Course Description

Deepen your understanding of the Islamic Scholarly Tradition with our comprehensive Online Islamic Foundation Certificate. Over the course of two years, our program offers a structured curriculum designed to provide students with a solid foundation in the various disciplines of Islamic studies. Through a combination of interactive online lectures and engaging discussions, participants will discover the beauty of our Deen under the guidance of experienced scholars.


Course Outline

1-Qur’an Module:



Translation and Commentary of the Qur’an

A detailed and inspiring commentary of selections of the Qur’an with an emphasis on highlighting lessons that are relevant to our daily life. Chapters to be covered: Surah Hujurat, Surah Kahf, Surah Yusuf, 30th Juzz.

The Sources & Methodology of Interpretation

Introduction to the field of Qur’anic Sciences; The Sources & Methodology for Interpretation of the Qur’an; Compilation of the Qur’an; Types & Causes of Revelation

2-Hadith Module



Introduction to the Science of Hadith

Introduction to the Science of Hadith Studies; Classifications of Hadith; Methodology & Terminologies used in Hadith

Zad al-Talibin (Provisions for the Seekers).

Riyadh al-Salihin (Meadows of the RIghteous)

This classic collection of 327 hadith contains many short sayings that express a multitude of meanings, and is ultimately meant to provide today’s Muslims a glimpse at the charisma of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and a roadmap with which to achieve closeness with Allah.

An explanation and commentary of hadith in Imam Nawawi’s classic compilation, Riyadh al-Saliheen with an emphasis on appreciating the beauty of the Sunnah as well as discover ways to implement the Sunnah in our lives

3-Islamic Law:



Historical Development of Islamic Law

This course will examine the sources of Islamic law, its basic methodologies and the foundation of the legal schools through a historical analysis of the classical era.

Islamic Law I

Islamic Legal Rulings pertaining to Ritual Purification, Menstruation, Salah, Zakah, Fasting and Udhiya (Sacrifice).

Islamic Law II

Islamic Legal Rulings pertaining to Business and Commerce, Marriage and Divorce.

Islamic Banking & Finance

This course will offer students an opportunity to understand the fundamental principles of Islamic Banking & Finance

Introduction to the Science of Islamic Spirituality based on the Qur’an and Sunnah

Is there an Attendance Policy?

Yes, Attendance is regularly marked for this program. In order to qualify for the certifictae at the end of the program, students need to maintain at least 80% attendance (either by attending live classes or recorded lessons). Students are not penalized for ONLY listening to recordings.

Will there be an exam every year?

Yes. Those students who wish to receive a degree at the end of the program need to appear for Annual Exams.

What if I cannot make it to class at the stipulated class time? Will I have access to recordings?

Recordings are available for all classes and students are not penalized for ONLY listening to recordings.

Are there any pre-requisites I should be aware of?

The ability to recognize Arabic letters is a prerequisite for Arabic classes. 

Is it possible to enroll as a listener and not give exams?

We allow listeners in Tafsir classes only.

Is there a Fee that I need to pay to enroll in this Program?

Students are not required to pay any fee. Our certificate programs are offered free of cost. Suggested donation per student per semester is USD 50. 

What if I have to miss classes during the year because of my work commitments?

This course has been designed to cater to working professionals and students, so we do understand that there may be occasions when you may not be able to attend class for genuine reasons. In such scenarios, we provide recordings so that students may catch up with the classes they have missed.
